During the COVID-19 pandemic, don’t be confused or live in fear about what to do with your money. The best place to keep your money is in banks licenced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) where it is safe and protected by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC). Taking your money out of banks or keeping it at home under the bed should not be an option. The NDIC has activated its Crisis Management Action Plan to prevent any negative impact on its operations and the banks under its supervision.
The NDIC in collaboration with other relevant agencies will continue to intensify its daily surveillance and risk assessments of licensed deposit taking financial institutions in the country. Furthermore, the NDIC has put in place measures to ensure that all depositors, creditors and shareholders of banks in-liquidation can continue to process their claims by filling the verification forms available on the NDIC website www.ndic.gov.ng on the following link http://ndictest.com/contact-us/claims-verification-forms/ . The completed form with all the necessary attachments should be scanned and forwarded to – claimscomplaints@ndic.gov.ng.
For any enquiries, depositors and the general public may wish to reach the NDIC via its 24 hour toll free Helpdesk number 080063424357 or emails helpdesk@ndic.gov.ng and info@ndic.gov.ng where our support staff are always available to respond. You can also follow us or leave a message on our social media handles @NDICNigeria or /NDICNigeria (on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn & YouTube).
NDIC remains committed to depositors’ protection and is working closely with other relevant agencies to support the Federal Government to safeguard the financial sector and contribute towards economic stability as we work together as a nation and member of the global community to defeat the pandemic that confronts us together at this crucial period.
